Start or stop a drive

While safely parked, open Drive and tap Start. GPS recording requires Precise Location. Tap Stop after parking, then review and save the trip. Add a trip manually is available without location permission.

Set up Auto Track

In Settings, open Automatic Drive Detection and enable Always + Precise Location, Motion & Fitness, and Background App Refresh. Drive notifications are optional. Review detected drives from the banner at the top of Trips.

Fix missing mileage

Check that Precise Location is enabled and that Milelight can use location while recording. A manual trip can fill in a drive you missed.

Export a report

Open Insights, choose a weekly, monthly, or yearly report, review it, then use Share PDF. CSV export is available from Settings.

Restore Milelight Pro

Open the Milelight Pro screen and choose Restore Purchases while signed into the Apple Account that made the purchase.

Delete a trip

Open Trips, then swipe a trip to delete it. Detected drives can be discarded during review. This does not change your trial, subscription, or Apple’s introductory-offer eligibility. Milelight has no online account to delete.

Start or cancel your three-day trial

Choose Weekly or Annual on the Pro screen, review the renewal price, then confirm with Apple. Eligible new subscribers get three days of unlimited driving. Cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid renewal. A canceled free trial may end immediately. Apple permits one introductory offer across both Milelight plans.

After a trial or subscription ends

Your existing trips, detected-drive reviews, edits, insights, and exports stay accessible. An active trial or subscription is required to record or enter new drives. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. If you have already subscribed, use Restore Purchases with the same Apple Account.

Use working hours

Working hours are inside Automatic Drive Detection settings. Automatic trips are limited to your schedule. If iOS suspends Milelight, a low-power signal may arrive before the app can pause its monitors; it is not used for recording or departure updates. Open Milelight when work begins to resume detection. With working hours off, there is no schedule limit.

Check report details and rates

Category and the actual trip purpose are separate fields. For a business trip, enter what the trip was for—for example, Client meeting — Harbor Dental. Reports flag missing purposes and destinations. Unknown future rates show as unavailable; you can enter a custom rate if needed.

Your mileage log won’t open

Your original files are kept, and recording pauses to protect them. Unlock your iPhone and try again, restart the phone, and check for an update. Contact support before uninstalling—deleting the app can remove your local records.

Does Auto Track work after force-closing?

Locking your iPhone or switching apps is supported. Swiping Milelight away force-closes it, and iOS can block background relaunch until you open it again. There is no supported override. Reopen Milelight to restore automatic detection and review any interrupted drive. Mileage from the gap cannot be reconstructed; add missed trips manually.
